Expatriate job growth slides

Bahrain has witnessed a sharp decline in employment growth among foreigners, from eight per cent in the first quarter of 2013 to 2pc between January and March this year.
It means employment growth among Bahrainis has overtaken that of expatriates for the first time in almost two years. New figures show there were 153,525 Bahrainis in work at the end of the first quarter of this year, an increase of 3.9pc from the same quarter last year. Continue reading

HRH Premier chairs regular weekly cabinet meeting

Manama, Jun. 1. (BNA) – The cabinet has welcomed the positive outcome of the recent visit of the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to the kingdom and hailed the importance of his talks with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The cabinet has also praised the importance of the agreements signed on the sidelines of the visit in bolstering Bahraini-Tajil cooperation in the fields of investment, culture, tourism and air transport, among others, the Secretary-General of Cabinet Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser stated.
