Labour Minister challenges heat

Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan paid several surprise visits to worksites across the Kingdom on Tuesday.The visit was made to ensure companies’ commitment to the ministry’s summer work ban, which prohibits outdoor labourers to work between 12pm and 4pm in July and August.During the visit, Mr. Humaidan met worksite supervisors and discussed their observations and requirements. Summer Ban Implemented

More than 98 per cent of companies in the Kingdom have implemented the Labour Ministry’s ‘Summer Work Ban,’ which came into effect by the beginning of the month. Labour Ministry Undersecretary Sabah Al Dossary stated on Tuesday that the ministry officials paid inspection visits to 3077 establishments last week. Continue reading
