LMRA: First Phase of Wage Protection System will Begin on May 1

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority has called on employers to join the wage protection system and commit to regular and timely transfer of workers’ wages to their bank accounts through any of the payment methods facilitated by entities licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain. LMRA CEO Congratulates His Highness Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa

H.E THE Chief Executive Officer, Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Mr. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, has extended congratulations to HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on the issuance of Royal Decree 54/2021, appointing him as Board of Directors Chairman of the Oil and Gas Holding Company B.S.C (Nogaholding).

Announcement: Sponsorship of the Expatriate Employee Family

In accordance to his Excellency the Minister of Interior decision No. 34 of 2021 regarding “Entry Visas and Residence Permits for the expatriate worker’s family members”, The employer will be able to apply new permits, renewal for expatriate worker’s family members (spouse / dependants up to the age of 24) Applicable only for workers whose monthly income is not less than 400 Bahraini Dinars via the Expat Management System (EMS). Late Fees Announcement

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority urges all employer to commit to paying the monthly invoices within one month from their date of issuance in order to avoid being charged with the late penalty fees. Committing to payment of the monthly fees prevents you being charged with the late fees fine imposed under Article No. (3) of Council of Ministers No.(28) for the year of 2008 which states that BHD 2 will be charged as late fees fine on each monthly invoice due, with maximum of BHD 6. LMRA calls on businesses, companies, and individuals who engage in the activity of “Manpower Agencies” in any form and under any name such as providing temporary domestic employees by the hour or providing cleaners for homes by the hour, or providing caregivers and nurses or others without obtaining a “Manpower Agency” license from the LMRA to stop immediately and rectify their position in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) of Law No. (19) of 2006, and the ordinance regulating this license No. (3) for the year 2014 regarding the regulation of licenses for manpower agencies and the procedures in force at the authority, to avoid legal accountability.
