LMRA Chief receives US Ambassador

Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, H.E Mr. Jamal Abdulaziz AlAlawi, received US Ambassador Steven C. Bondy and praised decades-long bilateral relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States.

Al Alawi briefed the US Ambassador about LMRA initiatives aimed to protect all stakeholders’ rights, including wages and optional insurance for domestic helpers.

He stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the authority and the US embassy, and uniting efforts to combat human trafficking between the two countries.

The US ambassador commended Bahrain’s efforts to improve work environment, combat human trafficking crimes, stressing his country’s keenness on further bolstering joint cooperation and partnership.
