Bahrain retains Tier 1 Status for fifth consecutive year

(BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has maintained its top tier ranking, for the fifth consecutive year, in recognition of its dedicated efforts to combat human trafficking.The US State Department’s 2022 report on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) has placed the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Tier 1 status.

Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, H.E Mr. Jamal Abdulaziz AlAlawi, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

He also extended congratulations to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attributing the achievement to HM the King’s farsighted vision and keenness on cultivating the culture of human rights beyond any discrimination.

“Thes4 achievements stem from HM the King’s reform project and commitment to the royal approach aimed to preserve human dignity as an inalienable right for all human beings”, he said.

He described the Kingdom of Bahrain as the homeland of moderation that extends bridges of communication with all countries of the world, across different cultures, religions and beliefs.
