Labour Ministry, LMRA, BCCI discuss cooperation

Labour and Social Development Minister and Board Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, held a meeting with a member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board members, led by First Deputy Chaimran, Khalid Rashid Abdulrahman Al-Zayani.

CEO of the LMRA, Ausamah Abdulla Al-Absi, and officials from the Labour Ministry and BCCI attended.

The attendees discussed stepping up coordination efforts through holding consultation meetings between the Labour and Social Development Ministry and LMRA, on the one hand, and BCCI, on the other, and activating joint committees. The move aims to enhance BCCI’s role and participation in developing and studying systems and legislation related to addressing difficulties and obstacles faced by Bahraini businessmen, as well as issues aimed at facilitating procedures and programmes to boost the business sector in the kingdom’s development process.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of the existing partnership between the two sides in developing the labour market and ensuring its stability, as well as revitalizing the business sector to attract investments that generate job opportunities for the citizens.

The minister praised the role played by BCCI in maintaining the interests of the private sector and addressing the challenges it is facing, citing the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to continue providing all kinds of support to businessmen and workers so as that they continue playing their role in enhancing Bahrain’s progress.

Khalid Rashid Al-Zayani affirmed the importance of the continuous positive cooperation between the Labour and Social Development Ministry, LMRA and BCCI in reforming the labour market and removing the obstacles facing business owners and workers. He also praised the existing fruitful cooperation among the three production parties.
