Gold and Jewellery sector praises LMRA responsiveness

Manama: Oct. 27 –(BNA)– The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)’s CEO, Ausamah bin Abdullah Al Absi, said that the LMRA does not procrastinate in communicating with all sectors of labour which represent our national economy, in order to remove any obstacles which might face businesspeople and provide more facilitations to them in compliance with the directives of Kingdom’s wise leadership. Mr. Al-Absi stressed that the Authority as an official executive body complements the private sector in order to achieve the public interest.

Mohammed Sajid, board member the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) cum chairman of the Pearls, Gold and Jewellery Committee, appreciated a lot the LMRA’s positive responsiveness with the committee in exploring the needs and suggestions of the sector, studying permanent mechanisms to increase facilitations to the sector, as part of regulation and official regimen. Mr. Sajid pointed out that the committee appreciates positive response, resilience and understanding by the LMRA for problems of the private sector.

He said that the Gold, Pearls and Jewellery Committee convened its meeting at the LMRA premises on Wednesday, October 23. The two sides agreed to introduce permanent mutual cooperation mechanisms and continual studying to find solutions for any difficulties which may face the sector in future.

The meeting also discussed the requirements of the gold and jewellery sector, training for Bahraini cadres and activation of the outcomes of jewellery designing programme sponsored by the committee.
