Labour fee exemption bill blocked
A BILL that would have exempted a government body from paying expatriate labour fees has been blocked by Shura Council members.

MANAMA: The policy of pro-rata Bahrainisation imposed on industrial and trade sectors is to be reconsidered.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) is conducting a specialised study focusing on each sector. It plans to pay a series of field visits to assess the needs of each for foreign workers. By slashing LMRA fees in half from BD10 per month for each expatriate employed at a time when businesses are struggling to survive the onslaught by the senseless, aimless rioters, will only do more harm than good. Continue reading
