Bid to combat ‘maid mafias’

New restrictions on employing foreign domestic workers will be drawn up to combat “mafias” that force women to work as housemaids in Bahrain.The government hopes to regulate number of expatriates coming to Bahrain to work as maids – with an estimated 87,000 already here. Continue reading

LMRA board welcomes Premier’s directives

The Minister of Labour, also Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)’s Board of Directors Chairman, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has welcomed the directives of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister regarding the easing of LMRA’s transactions for employers and businesses in order to boost the national economy and enable Bahrain’s private sector to boost its role in the Kingdom’s development and progression.
