VICTIMS of human trafficking in Bahrain will receive monthly allowances as part of a government initiative, it was revealed. However, the Victims Assistance Fund will only assist those whose cases are in the court.

Pre-employment health checks for expatriates privatized
PRIVATISATION of pre-employment medical tests for newly-hired expatriates in Bahrain is expected to bring down Health Ministry’s spending in this sector by more than 50 per cent. New LMRA facility for businessmen
A NEW centre that will offer business owners key services at their doorstep is being launched by Bahrain’s labour watchdog.
The Distinguished Service Centre, to be officially inaugurated by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) today, will provide facilities to employers right at their workplace, without the need for them to visit LMRA headquarters in Sanabis or any other branch. Continue reading
Flexible work permit launched
Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) launched the flexible work permit in a ceremony held at its Sitra branch yesterday.
The flexible work permit, issued for a period of two years, would enable an Individual to be his/her own sponsor. The permit holder would be free to work anywhere at his choice except in restaurants, salons and hotels, and would be entitled to service at all the Government health centres and hospitals. LMRA in new call to two-year-old boy’s parents
AUTHORITIES have pledged to not take legal action against the parents of a two-year-old boy, who was found in a busy suq on Wednesday night. They suspect the parents to be expatriates living illegally in Bahrain and have urged them to come forward to collect their son.
