Expat medical system to be upgraded
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Health Ministry decided to develop the existing medical checkup for expatriate manpower and link the system with the GCC medical checkup system for expatriate workers that is scheduled to be launched in January 2012. BBM wraps up LMRA project

Bahrain Business Machines (BBM), the Bahrain division of Gulf Business Machines (GBM), yesterday announced the completion of a project to enhance the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure at the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). The project entailed upgrading of LMRA’s existing IT infrastructure using the latest solutions from IBM.

Fees exemption
Bahrain companies will be exempted from paying fees to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) until the end of this year. The Cabinet yesterday decided to extend the grace period till December. Payments of LMRA fees were frozen last April.
