The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Receives a Delegation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM)

A delegation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in the Republic of the Philippines visited the LMRA’s Protection and Grievances Centre in Sehla.

During the visit, areas of continuous cooperation and coordination between the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the International Organization for Migration were discussed, especially in the fields of training and exchange of experiences in combating trafficking in person, with the aim of maintaining a work environment that preserves the rights of all work parties, and provides mechanisms to ensure the protection of workers from any attempts of trafficking or exploitation.
For its part, the delegation gave a detailed explanation of the “toolkit” for due diligence procedures, in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the International Organization for Migration for Employers’ (MWG) Guidelines for Migrant Workers.
