LMRA and NPRA Conducted an Intensive Inspection Campaign in the Capital that Resulted in Recording a Number of Violators

The Labour Marker Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced conducting an intensive inspection campaign in coordination with the Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Ministry of Interior, with the participation of the Capital Municipality and the Governorates Police Directorate which resulted in the arrest of a number of violators.


The LMRA and NPRA have affirmed their coordination will continue to intensify inspections in all governorates of the Kingdom, to address any violations or practices which may have a negative effect on the Labour market and its stability and competitiveness and harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.

The Director of the Labour Inspections at LMRA, Hamad Faisal Al Mulla, stated that preserving the stability of the Labour Market is a joint responsibility of the government agencies, that spare no effort to address all violation, as well as being a social responsibility, the more awareness of the importance of abiding by laws and regulations and not dealing with irregular workers the more success we achieve in safeguarding the components of the Labour Market.

Al Mulla, added the embassies of labour exporting companies have a major role in educating their nationals on the importance of abiding by laws and regulations, pointing out that the LMRA has raised the level of coordination with these embassies affirming the depth of partnership with them for the benefit of all concerned.
He further stressed that the Authority’s is keen to achieve a balance between meeting the needs of the national economy for regularized workers in various sectors which reflects positively in achieving fairness and clean competitiveness among business on one hand and while showing zero tolerance of any damaging practices in the Labour Market on the other hand.

He pointed out that the LMRA in coordination with NPRA, the Capital Municipality and the Police Directorate have conducted an intensive inspection campaign in the Capital Governorate focusing on violating street vendors, whereby each concerned agency took actions according to their role which included the LMRA Law, the Residency Law in Bahrain, and blocking public roadways without permit, which resulted in the registering a number of violations and irregular workers. Legal actions were taken accordingly.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies to address illegal practices in the Labour Market and informal employment to protect society as a whole, calling on everyone to report any complaints related to Labour Market violations and irregular employment by filling out the electronic form designated for reporting on the official website of the Authority www.lmra.gov.bh or calling the Authority’s call center 17506055.
