LMRA Records a Number of Violations During 3 Joint Inspection Campaigns

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) affirmed its commitment to strengthen regulation by intensifying efforts and procedures to address illegal practices in the labour market in various governorates of the Kingdom.

The authority indicated that it conducted three joint inspection campaigns, in the Capital, Muharraq, and Northern Governorates, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other relevant government entities, which included a number of shops and work sites.

The campaigns resulted in reporting a number of violations related to the provisions of the Labour Market Law and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and noting that legal measures have been taken in this regard.

LMRA stated that an inspection campaign was carried out in the Capital Governorate in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Capital Police Directorate, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture The second campaign was undertaken in coordination with the Sentence Enforcement Directorate in the Muharraq Governorate, while the third campaign was conducted in Northern Governorate in coordination with the Social Insurance Organization (SIO).

LMRA renewed its call to all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
