LMRA Conducts 5 Joint Inspection Campaigns in the Capital, Muharraq and Northern Governorates

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted five join inspection campaigns in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and the Social Insurance Organization in the Capital, Muharraq and Northern Governorates.​

The Inspection campaigns included visits to a number of shops and work sites, to determine the extent of compliance with law and regulations in order to preserve the competitiveness, stability and productivity of the labour Market.

 The 5 joint inspection campaigns resulted in reporting violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws. The cases were referred for legal action.

 LMRA stated that two inspections campaigns were carried out in the Capital Governorate, the first was in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA), the Capital Police Directorate, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) as well as the Ministry of Municipal and Agricultural Affairs, the second campaign was coordinated with the General Directorate of Criminal investigation and Forensic Evidence.

It added that two campaigns were conducted in Muharraq Governorate, the first campaign was attended by the Social Insurance Organization and the other in coordination with the General Directorate for Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence.

 The fifth campaign was carried out in the Northern Governorate with the participation of the Sentence Enforcement Directorate at the Ministry of Interior.

LMRA renewed its call to all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
