Ten inspectors at the Labour Market regulatory Authority’s Enforcement and Protection Department have taken the Judicial oath before the Authority’s Chief Executive, Her Excellency Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer, in accordance with His Excellency the Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Waqf’s Order No. 51 for the year 2023 regarding granting LMRA personnel with the status of judicial enforcement officers, and in implementation of Law No.19 for 2006 regulating the labour market.
Jamsheer affirmed that the Enforcement and Protection Department is one of the main pillars in LMRA’s execution of its responsibilities, outlining the huge role played by the sector in maintaining the stability of the labour market, addressing illegal practices, and safeguarding the rights of all work parties.
The LMRA CEO stressed to the inspectors the importance of the obligation to carry out the tasks entrusted to them, with the highest level of professionalism, accuracy and honesty, in accordance with the approved standards, within the framework for organizing and adhering to the legal principles in dealing with workers in the labour market and within the provisions of the law.
Jamsheer also called on all members of the enforcement and protection sector, including the inspection officers on the need to exercise the role of guiding and awareness during the performance of their inspections on establishments and the workers, and continuously develop their personal skills and legal knowledge which will build their professionalism when dealing with the employers and employees.
The LMRA inspectors are empowered to carry out tasks related to entry of work places and manpower supply agencies and recruitment offices among others, and to inspect the expatriate work force records, to verify the work permits and to identity the expat workers in addition to requesting the necessary information, documents and data from the employers and Manpower supply agencies and recruitment offices or their representatives or managers.
