Philippines Delegation Visits LMRA’s Expat Protection Centre

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) received a delegation from the Republic of the Philippines to learn about the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pioneering experiencing in providing the preventative and protection services to workers, and efforts to combat trafficking in persons, in the presence of LMRA officials.

The LMRA officials presented the new development of the labour market and the executive steps to maintain a stable and balanced work environment that preserve the rights of labour parties, and the efforts in raising awareness and providing guidance to workers
The delegation was briefed on the on the most recent and key initiative and projects launched including the new “Labour Registration Program” launched recently in partnership with private sector.

‏During the visit, the delegation informed about the objectives and key role of the Expat Protection Centre, as the first comprehensive and specialized facility of its kind in the Middle East region. The Centre provides counseling, legal services, shelter for victims and potential victims of crimes of trafficking in persons or any form of exploitation, and the preservation of labour rights in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
