LMRA, US Embassy Discuss Cooperation

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) CEO Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer received US Ambassador to Bahrain Steven C. Bondy,

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in the sector of employers and expatriate workers.

Jamsheer affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to preserve the rights of employers and workers.

She stressed the importance of maintaining a safe work environment based on the country’s principles and ethics.

The CEO praised the distinguished bilateral relations, especially in the labour and development fields.

She stressed LMRA’s keenness to develop the work environment and preserve the rights of expatriate workers against any attempts at blackmail, exploitation, or people trafficking.

Jamsheer reviewed the legislation, policies, and projects implemented by the government of Bahrain to regulate the labour market and maintain a stable work environment.

The two parties discussed Bahrain’s efforts in combating trafficking in persons and ways of transferring the Kingdom’s expertise regionally.
