LMRA, NPRA, Southern Police Directorate step up inspection campaigns

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) clamped down on a number of illegal workers in the Southern Governorate, who were found in breach of the labour market regulations and the law on residence.

The authority has carried out the joint inspection campaign in the Southern Governorate, in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate.

The authority is working in partnership with the Ministry of Interior and various government agencies to intensify efforts and procedures that promote the activation of regulatory tools in order to achieve stability, justice, flexibility and competitiveness in the labour market and contribute to eliminating the illegal practices by tightening control over violations perpetrated by employers and expatriate workers.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies to address illegal practices in the labour market and illegal workers to protect society as a whole, calling on the public to report any complaints related to violations of the labour market by calling the authority’s call centre 17506055.
