The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) continues its series of inspection campaigns on commercial establishments, work sites, and labour collection sites in various governorates of the Kingdom, as part of its plan to strengthen control and regulation and tighten up control over violators.
The authority has carried out a joint inspection campaign in Muharraq governorate in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior and the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate, which included a number of work sites and labour gathering sites.
The campaign resulted in finding a number of violations related to the provisions of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the arrest of a number of employers and workers who violated the regulations and laws. Legal deportation procedures are being taken.
The authority is working in partnership with the Ministry of Interior and various government agencies to intensify efforts and procedures that promote the activation of regulatory tools in order to achieve stability, justice, flexibility and competitiveness in the labour market and contribute to eliminating the illegal practices by tightening control over violations perpetrated by employers and expatriate workers.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies to address illegal practices in the labour market and illegal workers to protect society as a whole, calling on the public to report any complaints related to violations of the labour market by calling the authority’s call centre 17506055.
