LMRA Chief stresses Bahrain’s commitment to combating human trafficking

Vienna, Jul 2 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, H.E Mr. Jamal Abdulaziz AlAlawi, took part in the 12th meeting of the Working Group on Trafficking in Persons on  29-30 June  in Vienna.

Bahrain took part in the session  in order to enhance its international standing in combating trafficking in persons and strengthen global partnership, coordinate efforts and discuss common issues related to combating trafficking in persons.

AlAlawi, also chair of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, led a delegation which included Daij Khalifa Al-Binali, Secretary of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons.

He stressed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting efforts and initiatives to combat human trafficking in persons and protect human rights, in line with the approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Addressing the meeting, he stressed Bahrain’s continuous keenness to develop the national system and legislation to combat trafficking in persons.
