Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) today conducted an inspection campaign on a number of expatriate employees gathering places in the Northern Governorate.
The clampdown, which was coordinated with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and the Northern Governorate Police Directorate, is in line with the Government’s directives to step up intensify inspection campaigns to maintain the stability of the labour market.
The campaign resulted in the arrest of a number of violators who were found in breach of the LMRA provisions and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In a statement today, LMRA said that deportation procedures were taken against the lawbreakers in accordance with the legal provisions and regulations
It announced that it would conducts weekly inspection campaigns in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and relevant government entities to clampdown down on violations which would affect the justice, flexibility, and competitiveness of the labour market.
It stressed the importance of the society’s role in supporting the efforts of government entities in addressing illegal practices in order to maintain security and support, social, health and economic stability.
It called on the public to report any complaints related to labour market and illegal expatriate workers.
