The Labour Market: An Inspection Campaign in The Southern Governorate

In the line with the government’s directives to intensify inspection campaigns to maintain the stability of the Labour Market, the Enforcement Sector of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority organized an inspection campaign on shops and a number of expatriate employees gathering places in the Southern Governorate, on Wednesday, November 1, 2021, in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate.

The campaign resulted in the arrest of a number of violations related to the provisions of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the arrest of a number of workers violating regulations and laws, as deportation procedures were taken in accordance with the legal mechanisms in place.

The authority confirmed that it is keen to organize weekly inspection campaigns in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and relevant government entities, with the aim of identifying any violations or illegal procedures that would affect the justice, flexibility, and competitiveness of the Labour Market, stressing the deportation of illegal expatriate workers who are seized during inspection campaigns.

The authority reiterated the importance of the society’s role in supporting the efforts of government entities in addressing illegal practices in the Labour Market in order to preserve the security, social, health and economics of the society, calling on the public to report any complaints related to Labour Market and illegal expatriate workers.
