LMRA Chief Executive Receives Indian Ambassador

Manama, June 29 (BNA): Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), H.E Mr. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, received newly-appointed Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Piyush Srivastava. He congratulated him on his appointment, wishing him every success in his diplomatic duties.

The LMRA Chief Executive stressed the key role played by the diplomatic missions in cooperating with the governmental bodies to raise awareness of the expatriate workforce of their rights and duties as well as the systems and laws that have to be taken into consideration.

Al Alawi discussed issues related to the Indian labour force in the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing the kingdom’s efforts to further boost the work environment for the expatriate workers. He lauded the big role of the Indian workforce in various sectors.

The Indian ambassador praised the care given by the Kingdom of Bahrain to the expatriate workforce, particularly the Indian community. He also commended the procedures taken by the kingdom to provide comprehensive care for the expatriate workers since the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. He affirmed the embassy’s keenness to cooperate with the competent authorities in the kingdom at all levels, regarding the Indian community, and in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
