LMRA Switches to Cloud Computing

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) yesterday migrated its electronic system successfully to Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centre.

Chief executive Ausamah Alabsi said the authority has become the largest governmental entity to switch to cloud computing.

He said 60 Bahrainis worked on the project for more than a year.
“The LMRA electronic system, which processes an average of 1.6 million transactions annually, stores the data of expatriates, businessmen and other entities,” Mr Al Absi said.

A specialised team started the operation at 4am yesterday and completed it at 12.30pm. The system was then relaunched successfully at 5pm. The new system will be monitored over two months to assess its performance.
