LMRA’s efforts in combating human trafficking commended

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) CEO and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCTP), Osama bin Abdullah Al-Absi, today received a European parliamentary delegation led by member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Amjad Bashir.

Al-Absi gave a brief presentation of the labour market reform project and the actions taken to address the irregular employment and human trafficking.

He gave detailed brief on the legal mechanisms to enhance Bahrain’s efforts in combating human trafficking to ensure the victims’ rights.

He stressed keenness to benefit from the international expertise in the same area, pointing out Bahrain’s keenness on joining international conventions relating to the respect for labour rights.

The European delegation hailed the LMAR’s efforts in the development of work environment, supporting the expat’s labour and its resolve to combat human trafficking.
