The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has warned the public against dealing with unlicensed recruitment agencies. Legal action is being taken against those violating the authority’s rules and regulations that protect the rights of citizens and residents, LMRA planning and licensing director Hassan Al Rahma said.

LMRA continues to receive complaints about illegal employment offices on a daily basis, particularly from Bahrainis and expatriates applying for domestic workers, he said. He called on heads of families to only deal with licensed recruitment agencies, posted on its official website www. lmra.gov.bh, which is updated weekly. A total of 205 employment offices are registered to date.

Of these, 158 are fully compliant with LMRA’s conditions and requirements, he pointed out. Mr Al Rahma urged citizens to file their complaints in person at the authority’s headquarters (planning and licensing offices) and expect a reply within seven working days.
