HRH Premier’s directives to prioritise national workforce hailed

Labour Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has lauded the sound directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on supporting the national workforce and consolidating its status in the production and development sites.

He was commenting on the directives issued by HRH Premier as he chaired here yesterday’s regular weekly cabinet meeting on the need to give top priority to Bahraini job-seekers and make them the best option in the labour market.

He affirmed that HRH the Prime Minister’s directives reflect the unlimited interest of the government, under HRH’s leadership, in reforming the labour market and supporting initiatives and projects aiming to prioritise national human resources.

He added that the labour market’s indicators for the second quarter of this year, showing an increase in the number of Bahraini workers, were the result of HRH Premier’s support.

He explained that the number of Bahraini workers had reached 154,611 by the end of the second quarter, making an increase of 1.6% compared to Q2 of 2013.
