Shop-owner arrested on charges of trying to bribe LMRA staff

The General Director of Anti-Corruption and Forensic Science disclosed yesterday (Sunday: March 31, 2013) the arresting of a shop-owner on charges of attempting to bribe a Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) staff member.

The LMRA employee had reportely lodged a complaint versus an Asian expat who tried to give him BD1500 in bribe in order to ignore violations in his shop.

The Asian national was caught red-handed while trying to make a down payment of BD1000 to the LMRA staff member.

The suspect will be referred to the Public Prosecutor.
