LMRA CEO to help child cancer patient

The LMRA chief has extended support to a cancer stricken boy, by allowing him and his mother to stay in Bahrain until his therapy is compeleted.

The child, Adil Hussain, 5, lost his father in a car accident. On Tuesday, the man, Sabir Hussain Gulfar Hussain, was hit by a car while he was out for a walk.The body will be repatriated soon but however, the stay of his wife and child would not be renwed. This would mean that Adil would have a discontinue his therapy, of wich 18 months  are still left.

LMRA CEO Ausamah Al Absi said that he would speak to authorities and try to explore options on how the boy and his mother could stay in the kingdom in order to complete the treatment.

“We can understand the grief and anguish the family is going through now. I will on humanitarian grounds try to see what can be done.” he stated.

Mr. Hussain’s employer told DT that hee was willing to do wahtever it takes to let the family stay and finish the treatment. “I was contacted by the authorities and they have asked for some documentation. I hope they can do something.” he added.

Mr. Hussain’s cousin, Irshad said that he was grateful to all concerned for the help extended to their family following the incident, ” Even the fact that the authorities are considering our case is to me a miracle,” he stated.

The family is considering to approach the Pakistan Embasy to request assistance in filing for compensation for the death of Mr. Hussain.

“We did not know what had happened. But now we have been told that the driver of the car which hit Mr. Hussain was probably speeding.

The compansation will help pay for Adil’s treatment, which earlier, was being taken care of by his father,” Mr. Irshad explained.
