MANAMA: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority yesterday announced the signing of an agreement with Ahli United Bank (AUB) to provide services in respect to the payment of fees to LMRA by employers and institutions.
Under the agreement signed by LMRA’s chief executive officer Ali Ahmed Radhi and AUB’s deputy group chief executive officer retail banking Abdulla Al Raeesi, AUB will extend fee collection services to all employers and institutions in Bahrain across a network of branches, using its Internet banking portal.
The service will cover collection of fees for new work permits, renewal fees and those for changing jobs and will be extended free of any service charges.
“In our efforts to facilitate and accelerate the collection of fees, we have invited AUB, the leading bank in Bahrain and the region, to provide this facility,” said Mr Radhi.
“This joint initiative reflects our mutual commitment to provide an efficient and convenient platform for all employers to manage their employee-related requirements with ease and avoid delays,” he added.
“The strategic initiative underscores AUB’s commitment to take part in key government-led programmes aimed at improving levels of efficiency and service to society in Bahrain,” he said.
“The tie-up between LMRA and Ahli United Bank which commenced in 2008 has steadily enhanced the service offering,” he added.
“With AUB branches now linked directly to the LMRA system, all payments are now reflected on a real time basis in the LMRA system and will save a considerable amount of time for processing renewals and issuance of permits,” he said.
