Key forum for Asian traders on the way

MANAMA: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Tamkeen (Labour Fund) will make presentations for Asian businessmen at a key forum on Saturday.

The forum is being organised by the Bahrain Asia Trading Committee (BATC) of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

More than 200 delegates, mainly Asian businessmen, will attend the forum, said BCCI board member and BATC chairman Othman Sharif.

LMRA chief executive Ali Radhi and Tamkeen chief executive Abdulellah Al Qassimi will make presentations.

“A large number of Asian businessmen are still not aware of the LMRA rules and Tamkeen’s objectives,” said Mr Sharif.

“The forum will provide a question-answer session to help them clarify their doubts on LMRA procedures.”

BATC will also launch its first bulletin at the forum, said Mr Sharif.

“The bulletin will carry a directory of the members and their activities,” he said.

Asian ambassadors, Asian banks and Asian airlines in Bahrain have also been invited to the forum, said Mr Sharif.
