HIS Majesty King Hamad, in the presence of Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, yesterday hailed the successful strides made by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).

He was speaking as he received Labour Minister Dr Majeed Al Alawi, who submitted the annual LMRA 2007 Report, at the Sakhir Palace.

The LMRA’s programmes, aimed at organising the labour market to better serve the national economy, were praised.

The King hailed the report, which documents the LMRA’s achievements, highlighting its co-operation with the public and private sectors to ensure quality services and streamlining measures. Such a drive will meet balanced objectives of the labour market reforms without encroaching on the interests of businessmen and employees, the King said. The King was also updated on LMRA projects.
