THIS is with regard to frequent appeals by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) urging expatriates to legalise their stay in Bahrain.

I went to register on June 11; I preferred the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and was there at a very busy time – 6.30pm. In fact, Friday’s GDN confirmed that that Wednesday’s turnout was the highest – 6,999.

The entire procedure was very well organised and other than having great regard for them I simply have no complaints against LMRA chief executive Ali Radhi and his team.

LMRA had looked into every detail, from organising the community police to arranging separate counters for families and single men. I was at the family counter.

The women at the counters were polite, well-mannered and co-operative. On top of this, from the entrance to the waiting area, the community police were very cordial and polite. I even saw Mr Radhi at the counters, welcoming the registrants.

The queues were moving very fast with the help of the community police, and even at the busiest time of the day, the entire operation took only 10 minutes. I was out of BIEC at 6.50pm.

The lanes were properly numbered, registration forms were on display, the counter staff was well aware of their duties, a fully-operative cafeteria and plenty of rest rooms.

Bravo, Mr Radhi and your team. You will go a long way in your mission, when you take LMRA under your wings.
