{"id":810,"date":"2010-01-24T13:23:45","date_gmt":"2010-01-24T10:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.lmra.gov.bh\/en\/?p=810"},"modified":"2010-01-24T13:23:45","modified_gmt":"2010-01-24T10:23:45","slug":"important-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lmra.gov.bh\/en\/2010\/01\/24\/important-notice\/","title":{"rendered":"Important Notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>As part of LMRA\u2019s continuous efforts to keep you informed and updated, and according to Labour Market Regulations Act No. (19) 2006, LMRA would like you to take note of this important process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0 Article No. (26-A) from the above act, \u201cA Work permit shall expire at the end of its duration unless renewed \u200ein accordance with the provisions of this Act\u201d. In other words, <strong>work or family visas can no longer be renewed after their expiry<\/strong> and there is no \u201cGrace Period\u201d. Expired work or family visas will be cancelled and the expats will have to leave the country within 30 days, unless the foreign worker has a new work visa or by registering his\/her \u201c<strong>Intention for Mobility<\/strong>\u201d before 30 days of the expiry date of the work visa.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the above, you should also take note of the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>According to resolution No. (76) 2008, <strong>Renewal of work and family visas can be done up to 6 months before the expiry date<\/strong>, while considering the accuracy of data registered in LMRA\u2019s system (Passport No., Passport issue date, expiry date, etc\u2026).<\/li>\n<li>Employer and employee need to make sure that the expat employee\u2019s (or family member\u2019s) <strong>passport is valid for at least 2 years before applying for any LMRA transaction<\/strong> such as new work visa application, renewal, or mobility.<\/li>\n<li>Once the expat has been issued a Work\/Family visa, he\/she <strong>must not change the passport or update any details on the passport before entering the country and completing the formalities<\/strong> or the work visa will be <strong>Invalid<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Always pay LMRA fees on time<\/strong> to avoid late payment penalties and offences against your organisation.
