The National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, in coordination with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), has announced the opening of nominations for the \u201cPrivate Sector Excellence Award for Combatting Trafficking in Persons\u201d until 20 July 2026. The award aims to encourage private sector establishments to adopt sustainable practices and initiatives that contribute to enhancing the work environment, safeguarding employees’ rights, and promoting a culture of responsible institutional compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Mr. Nibras Talib, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons noted that the award is part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sustained efforts to embedding a culture of combatting trafficking in persons across society and private sector. He added that the initiative represents a further step towards translating these national efforts into sustainable practices that reflect the private sector’s commitment to developing innovative mechanisms that safeguard the rights of all parties, provide a safe working environment, and highlight best practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications that meet the eligibility requirements will undergo a technical evaluation conducted by a specialized assessment team, based on the self-assessment form and the award’s accredited criteria, including compliance, impact, innovation, and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LMRA will verify that participating establishments meet all eligibility requirements and comply with the relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Wage Protection System (WPS). The verification process will also ensure that applicants are not subject to serious violations or legal proceedings that would prevent their participation in the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the completion of the technical assessment, the evaluation results will be submitted to the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, which will review the initiatives in accordance with its approved evaluation criterion and endorse the winners in each category. The winning companies will be announced in conjunction with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LMRA urges establishments to submit the nominations applications through the LMRA’s official website by completing the electronic form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
