The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 4,003 inspection campaigns and visits, during the month of May 2026, which resulted in the detention of 129 violating and irregular workers, while 324 violators were deported as part of continuous efforts to maintain a fair, stable, and competitive labour market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring a number of violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Authority pointed out that 3,879 inspection visits were carried out on various shops in all governorates, in addition to 124 joint inspection campaigns, 48 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 25 campaigns in the Muharraq Governorate, 26 campaigns in the Northern Governorate, and 25 campaigns in the Southern Governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government entities that participated in the campaigns are the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, and the General Directorate of Traffic and the Governorate\u2019s respective Police Directorate, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority and the Social Insurance Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Authority affirmed the continuation of joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns in all governorates of the Kingdom, and to address any violations or practices that negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm economic, and social security of the Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority\u2019s website www.lmra.gov.bh<\/a> or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055 or via the government\u2019s Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
