Fourteen employees of a furniture shop have filed a complaint with the labour authority alleging non-payment of salary for three months.<\/p>\n

Employed with the establishment for over 18 months, the Indians also claimed their food allowance of BD15 had been discontinued, leaving them at the mercy of good samaritans to feed them.<\/p>\n

One of the worker said, \u201cWe get paid anywhere between BD60-80 every month. We had paid between BD750 and BD1,000 to get visas to Bahrain from an Indian travel agency. Earlier we were staying in the company premises but were later shifted to Tubli near Isa Town.<\/p>\n

The sponsor came over and threw our belongings out of the rooms, leaving us stranded out in the hot sun.”<\/p>\n

He claimed the resident permits were yet to be stamped and only three of the workers had received their CPR cards.<\/p>\n

On Monday the sponsor\u2019s partner came over and following talks, let the workers into the accommodation but the salary arrears were not settled<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
