Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Chairman of the Labour Market Authority (LMRA)\u2019s Board of Directors, received the\u00a0 International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Chief of Mission , Mohamed Al Zarkani.<\/p>\n

They discussed issues pertaining to expatriate workers\u2019 rights, citing Bahrain\u2019s advanced legal and institutional infrastructure and incessant efforts to ensure the protection of workers and labor rights and its achievement of the leading ranking in the US State Department\u2019s report as the sole country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region meritoriously retaining its advanced international status in combating the trafficking in persons.<\/p>\n

The minister reaffirmed Bahrain\u2019s support and close cooperation with the organization and other international agencies to protect human rights, particularly the rights of expatriate workers in accordance with international standards.<\/p>\n

Al Zarkani expressed his appreciation of Bahrain\u2019s efforts to protect the rights of workers and combating the trafficking in persons, lauding the efforts of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development.\u00a0 He affirmed the IMO\u2019s keenness on boosting the constructive cooperation with all the relevant human rights entities in the Kingdom as well as shedding light on Bahrain\u2019s successful experience at international functions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
