{"id":267,"date":"2008-11-12T00:00:36","date_gmt":"2008-11-11T21:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.lmra.gov.bh\/en\/?p=267"},"modified":"2008-11-12T00:00:36","modified_gmt":"2008-11-11T21:00:36","slug":"clamp-on-illegal-employees-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lmra.gov.bh\/en\/2008\/11\/12\/clamp-on-illegal-employees-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Clamp on &#8216;illegal&#8217; employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FIFTY-NINE labour market violations were reported to the General Prosecution up to September 30.<\/p>\n<p>Of these, five cases have been referred to the courts for legal action, Labour Market Regulatory Authority deputy chief executive for legal enforcement Yunis Al Hermi said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>An employer has been fined BD24,000 in an out-of-court settlement for illegally hiring 24 expatriates.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Seventeen expatriates have also been deported from Bahrain as part of LMRA regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 72 other violations were reported last month in a crackdown involving 1,742 inspection visits.<\/p>\n<p>A total 1,488 cases of runway expatriate workers have also been surveyed last month.<\/p>\n<p>Employers also submitted 53 notifications to deport expatriate workers after terminating their contracts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FIFTY-NINE labour market violations were reported to the General Prosecution up to September 30.
