Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan paid several surprise visits to worksites across the Kingdom on Tuesday.The visit was made to ensure companies\u2019 commitment to the ministry\u2019s summer work ban, which prohibits outdoor labourers to work between 12pm and 4pm in July and August.During the visit, Mr. Humaidan met worksite supervisors and discussed their observations and requirements.<\/p>\n
The minister told the companies\u2019 officials to follow the summer work ban strictly by rescheduling working hours to maintain workers\u2019 safety, without affecting the work progress.\u201cConsidering the harsh weather conditions in Bahrain, the summer work ban is a wise decision to protect workers from any complications caused by the heat. The high percentage of compliance proves the companies\u2019 responsibilities towards their staff members,\u201d said Mr. Humaidan.Affirming that the work ban decision is taken to reduce work-site accidents, Mr. Humaidan added that a safe work environment is productive too.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, representatives of companies stated that implementing the summer work ban resulted in reducing on-site accidents caused by heat and fatigue.Labour Ministry Undersecretary, Sabah Al Dossary, Vocational Safety Department Head, Hussain Al Shami and senior ministry inspectors were present during the visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
