\nMANAMA: A freeze on fees levied by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has been extended until April 1. The Cabinet yesterday announced the reprieve as it convened its weekly meeting.<\/p>\n

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the session at Gudaibiya Palace.<\/p>\n

He directed authorities to review the labour fees levied on foreign workers and submit recommendations.<\/p>\n

The aim is to assess their impact on different economic sectors in Bahrain.<\/p>\n

The LMRA fees were first frozen on April 1, as Bahrain was emerging from two-month unrest which crippled business.<\/p>\n

In another Cabinet development, dilapidated houses which pose a public danger are to be demolished to protect lives and property.<\/p>\n

HRH the Premier ordered ministries of municipalities and urban planning affairs and culture to survey dilapidated units and raze them.<\/p>\n

HRH the Premier separately instructed ministries to implement the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).<\/p>\n

He instructed them to ensure the National Dialogue recommendations have the priority. “The government is heralding a new era of national work in light of the BICI and National Dialogue recommendations,” he said.<\/p>\n

Deputy Premier and head of a government team charged with implementing the BICI report Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa submitted a report on co-operation with the National Commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
