Visa on arrival for 2.5bn people
Bahrain’s new visa on arrival policy would benefit more than 2.5 billion people from over 100 countries around the world, the Economic Development Board said in a statement yesterday. According the EDB statement, the new visa policy allows people from 60 more countries to avail the visa on arrival policy, bringing the total number of countries availing his option to around 100. After two months of agony and uncertainty, two Indian workers left for their homes in India, thanks to the timely efforts by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). Embassy is set to begin online visa system

Agency closed over jobs scam
A RECRUITING agency which allegedly conned people out of money to apply for nearly 300 bogus jobs in a Bahrain hospital is being shut down by Indian authorities. Police from Karnataka’s District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) arrested two men from Mangalore for allegedly operating a fake visa racket to recruit people to Bahrain. Continue reading

EXPATRIATES working in Bahrain are a text message away from being able to check their visa status following the launch of a new scheme.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has teamed up with local firm Mobile Information Services to offer the portal service, which will cost only 50 fils.
