Mr. Nibras Talib, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, met with Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, BBK Group Chief Executive, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

Mr. Talib affirmed the significant role played by BBK in supporting Bahrain’s national strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s reputation locally, regionally and internationally in advancing labour market development and in reinforcing national leadership in combatting trafficking in persons.

Additional appreciation was extended to BBK for supporting the implementation of the enhanced Wage Protection System, which enables employers to pay the wages of national and foreign employees electronically through a unified and efficient platform that elevates protection and stability across the labour market. Mr. Talib also expressed gratitude to BBK for its swift alignment with the system requirements, noting that the bank was among the first local financial institutions to provide wage payment services through the platform.

For his part, Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, BBK Group Chief Executive, expressed pride in the ongoing cooperation with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and affirmed that the strong and longstanding partnership between both entities represents a fundamental pillar in supporting national efforts to develop Bahrain’s labour environment, strengthen its competitiveness and sustainability, and elevate standards of transparency, governance and the protection of employees’ rights.

Mr. Alsharifi also underscored BBK’s commitment to maintaining its role as a trusted financial partner that supports national initiatives aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and international position in labour protection and in combatting trafficking in persons. Mr. Alsharifi further highlighted the bank’s ongoing investment in the development of advanced digital systems and the introduction of innovative solutions that enable employers to process wage payments with greater efficiency and ease, in alignment with global best practices and sustainable development principles.
