Nibras Mohammed Talib, Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), received Ugochi Daniels, Deputy Director General of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) at the United Nations (UN), on the sidelines of the 114th session meetings of the IOM’s Council.
The LMRA CEO expressed his appreciation for the IOM’s role alongside the UN agencies in supporting the efforts of countries to develop procedures and policies to provide a protection system that enhances a safe work environment, and raises workers’ awareness, in addition to developing mechanisms to confront the crime of trafficking in persons.
He praised the LMRA and IOM’s cooperation in supporting the kingdom’s efforts to develop its system and training national and regional cadres in the field of combating trafficking in persons, in line with rules, standards, and the best international practices, through the partnership with the Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons.
