The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out four joint inspection campaigns in the Capital and Northern Governorates, that included a number of shops, work sites, as a continuation of a series of intensive campaigns to ensure the stability, sustainability and fairness of the labour market.
The Authority pointed out that two joint inspection campaigns were carried out with the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence at the Ministry of Interior in the Northern Governorate, while the third campaign was undertaken in the Northern Governorate in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and the Governorate’s respective Police Directorate. The fourth was conducted in the Capital Governorate in coordination with the Sentence Enforcement Directorate.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority explained that the inspection campaigns resulted in the reporting a number of violations related to the Labour Market and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures have been taken in this regard.
LMRA renewed its call on all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies to address illegal practices in the labour market and irregular employment, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
