Mr. Nibras Mohammed Talib, Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCTIP), emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the steadfast support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has achieved numerous accomplishments in protecting and upholding human rights. This unwavering approach is derived from the royal vision of safeguarding human rights and fostering a culture of respect for these rights.

On the occasion of Bahrain securing Tier 1 status in the U.S. State Department’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report for the seventh consecutive year, Mr. Talib extended his congratulations to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for this accomplishment, which reflects the international recognition of Bahrain’s pioneering efforts to uphold human rights through an institutional framework that ensures the rights of all.

Mr. Talib noted that this achievement is a significant addition to the Kingdom’s record of accomplishments under the leadership of His Majesty the King, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international efforts in combating trafficking in persons and solidifying its position as a global model for promoting human rights and combating trafficking in persons.

The LMRA Chief Executive highlighted that Bahrain’s Tier 1 ranking in the U.S. State Department report, which assesses 188 countries worldwide in combating trafficking in persons, is a testament to the Kingdom’s international standing. This achievement is attributed to the institutional approach embraced by all government and non-governmental entities, reflecting a deep-rooted culture of openness and coexistence within Bahraini society.

He added that maintaining this international standing for seven consecutive years motivates Team Bahrain to continue its efforts in ensuring the Kingdom’s progress in this regard and maintaining international trust. “In line with the vision of His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, we will intensify our efforts in coordination with relevant government and non-governmental agencies to review and enhance all measures taken by the Kingdom to ensure its leadership in combating trafficking in persons,” Mr. Talib stated. “We will also share Bahrain’s experience regionally and internationally to maximize the benefit of expertise and support global efforts in combating trafficking in persons.”

Mr. Talib praised the integrated efforts of all legislative, executive, and judicial authorities, as well as the cooperation with human rights institutions and civil society organizations, which embody the spirit of active partnership in elevating the Kingdom’s standing locally, regionally, and internationally. These efforts have harnessed all available resources to achieve social and economic security and support the stability of the labour market in Bahrain.

He expressed his appreciation for the significant role played by the Ministry of Interior, under the guidance of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in achieving social and economic security and supporting the stability of the labour market. He commended the Ministry’s continuous cooperation in conducting daily inspection campaigns across all governorates to monitor and document labour practices, as well as its swift response in addressing and referring complaints to the relevant judicial authorities.
