The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted four joint inspection campaigns with the relevant government entities. The campaigns resulted in reporting violations related to the Labour Market, Residency Laws and others. The cases were referred for legal action.
The inspection campaigns included visits to a number of shops and work sites, to determine the extent of compliance with laws and regulations in order to preserve the competitiveness, stability and productivity of the labour Market.
LMRA stated that two joint inspections campaigns were carried out in the Northern and Southern Governorates in coordination with the General Directorate of Criminal investigation and Forensic Evidence.
It added that the third campaign was conducted in partnership with the Nationality, Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA) and the Capital Police Directorate in the Capital Governorate, while the fourth campaign was undertaken in coordination with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, General Directorate of Civil Defense and Southern Municipality in the Muharraq and Northern Governorates.
LMRA renewed its call to all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
