The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out four inspection campaigns in the Northern and Southern governorates, that included a number of shops and work sites, as a continuation of a series of intensive campaigns to ensure the stability, sustainability and fairness of the labour market.
The Authority outlined that two joint inspection campaigns were carried out in the Southern Governorate in coordination with the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence at the Ministry of Interior, while the third campaign was implemented in partnership with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, and the fourth was in the Northern Governorate in coordination with the Sentence Enforcement Directorate.
The campaigns resulted in reporting violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws. The cases were referred for legal action.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
