The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced that a joint inspection campaign conducted in the Capital Governorate, in coordination with the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence and the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior, has resulted in the detection of a number of violations related to Labour Market and Residency Laws and Regulations.
The Authority stated that 26 irregular workers were arrested for violating their work permits and 8 violating manpower agencies were referred for legal action after failing to acquire the necessary licenses.
The Authority emphasized the need for all enterprises and individuals to comply with the legal procedures set and to acquire the needed licenses from the LMRA to avoid legal accountability.
LMRA urges the public to visit the LMRA website www.lmra.gov.bh to view the list of Manpower agencies compliant with the laws and regulation that is updated regularly in order to preserve their rights and for their own safety.
